Meet Tara
Our first honoree is Tara Bazilian Chang, owner of TBC Photo. Tara fell in love with her craft as a high school student, then attending college for photography, and ultimately following her dream to start her own photography business in 2010. She has been steadily growing her business for the past 14 years.
In the beginning, Tara says she had no idea how to be a business owner, originally thinking that her photos would speak for themselves, and clients would just come to her. As great as she is, that’s not how it works. She quickly realized that there is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into owning a business and joined The Women’s Business Center at Canisius to learn how to operate as a business owner. She’s been in a cohort group for the past 12 years, and has been growing steadily ever since. Tara’s nominator stated that, “Tara stands out in a crowd, she radiates positivity, sweet humor and down-to-earth problem-solving. She’s direct but never harsh; she’s highly intelligent yet modest and supportive. As a woman-owned solopreneur she has made her mark by her accomplishments, including receiving the Enterprise Award for being in the top ten best photographers in Buffalo, three years in a row.
Congratulations to you Tara for all of your hard work in making your passion a strong and prosperous business!
