Please join the Women’s Business Center (WBC) at Canisius College as we take this timely action of celebrating women business owners who have created success and support the women-owned businesses that are looking to grow. Let’s use the energy the community has today and create great things for tomorrow!

There is a need for us to come together. According to the Harvard Business Review, “Although women start businesses at twice the rate of men, only 2% of women-owned businesses break the $1 million threshold in terms of revenues.”

Through the WBC’s 16 years of existence we have served thousands of women seeking to launch a new business or scale up their existing business. Through last year’s efforts alone, the WBC’s economic impact resulted in helping 19 new businesses launched; 363 jobs supported and over $3.89 Million in revenue growth.

Our Ignite Awards Luncheon will be a telling visual of support with business resources and corporate services that serve small businesses. The energy will be palpable, and meaningful connections will be made by all, as this very unique event will match up attendees at the tables with potential clients, partners and/or mentors.

Let’s take this opportunity to join forces to create greater success for us all!

Given the actual pandemic situation and using the funds collected from our very unique event the Ignite Awards Luncheon 2020, all Advisory Group and E-Network memberships will benefit from a 25% discount throughout the year.

Come Celebrate Women Business Owners of WNY

According to the 2018 State of Women-Owned Business Report by American Express, 4 out of every 10 businesses in the US are women-owned.  Women-owned businesses employ 9.2 million people and generated $1.8 trillion in revenue.  Did you know that 62% of women entrepreneurs depend on their business as their primary source of income? Yet at the same time, 88% of women-owned businesses generate less than $100,000 in revenue!

The WBC recognizes the critical role these businesses play in our community and to our economy and in every way possible create opportunities to drive their growth.  We invite your organization to show your support as well.  Come to the table and sponsor as you are able.
