In 1972, there were a little over 400,000 women-owned businesses in the United States. Today, there are over 13 million women-owned businesses and counting.
Locally, our Women’s Business Center at Canisius University is the “Home of Women’s Entrepreneurship” and has been for 20 years! We have served over 4,300 businesses through the years, supported them in receiving $4.5 Million in capital and over $116 Million in revenues. We served over 300 individuals just last year. Of those 300 we helped last year, they create 45 new jobs and supported 170 jobs in total, and 20 of those helped officially launched new businesses.
